(1) As at 2 May 2013, the operational capacity across the
entire state was 5,361.
Definition of Operational Capacity - The total number of beds
available in relation to any agreements in place in regards to staffing and
infrastructure capacity (excludes non-standard beds).
Definition of non-standard beds - The Department adheres to the
Council Of Australian Government (COAG) definition of a non-standard bed which
is as follows:
A non-standard bed is one used for a special, specific purpose, such as:
· disciplinary segregation
· observation or crisis care
· hospital or infirmary accommodation unless it is special
accommodation for the long term accommodation for aged prisoners or prisoners
with long term illnesses.
(2) As at 2 May 2013, the operational capacity per prison facility
was:

building works are as follows:
· Roebourne Work Camp - 30 beds -December
2013.
· Eastern Goldfields Regional Prison (EGRP) - 350
beds total (net: 222). This includes - 300 male (net: 193 once old EGRP is
demolished) 50 female (net: 29 once old EGRP is demolished) - August 2015.
· Acacia Prison - 387 beds - June 2015.
