I refer to all Boards that are under the responsibility of the Ministers portfolio. Can the Minister please advise, -
(1) Who was on the Board as at 23 September 2008?
(2) For each member in (1), -
(a) when they were appointed; and
(b) when did their appointment cease?
(3) When were redundant members informed that they were not to be reappointed?
(4) Was the member informed in a timely manner?
(5) By whom was the member informed of the redundancy?
(6) Which of those redundant members received written notification that they would not be reappointed?
(7) How were the other redundant members notified?
(8) Who is on each Board as at 2 March 2010?

In respect to the Board of the Disability Services Commission the Minister advises - Board members are appointed for finite terms according to the conditions of Schedule 3 Clause 1 of the Disability Services Act 1993. Under the Act, members may serve a maximum of six years consecutively, on the Board.
(1) Bruce Langoulant (Chairperson); Wendy Dimer; Kerry Allan-Zinner; James McKiernan; Shayne Silcox; Valerie Shiell; Sally Eves; Michael Tidy and Anthony Curry.

(a) Bruce Langoulant re-appointed as Chairperson on 9 June 2008; Wendy Dimer appointed on 29 May 2006; Kerry Allan-Zinner appointed on 1 October 2006; James McKiernan re-appointed on 9 June 2008; Shayne Silcox appointed on 6 November 2006; Valerie Shiell re-appointed on 19 August 2005; Sally Eves re-appointed on 10 December 2007; Michael Tidy appointed on 10 December 2007; Anthony Curry appointed on 10 December 2007.
(b) Wendy Dimer's first term was due to expire on 28 May 2009. She was re-appointed for a further three years on 25 May 2009; Kerry Allan-Zinner's term on the Board of the Commission expired on 30 September 2008. As her Board appointment was tied to her term of office as the Chairperson of the Ministerial Advisory Council on Disability, Ms Allan-Zinner was not eligibile for reappointment to either the Council or the Commission Board; Shayne Silcox's first term was due to expire on 5 November 2009. Dr Silcox was re-appointed for a further three years on 2 November 2009; Valerie Shiell's term expired on 18 August 2008. Ms Shiell was not eligible for re-appointment as she had served six consecutive years as a Board member.
(3) There were no redundant members of the Commission Board. All retiring members completed their terms of office according to the appointment conditions specified by Cabinet.
(4) Board members are informed of their length of term at the beginning of their term of office.
(5)-(7) Not applicable.
