AUSTRALIAN TRADES COLLEGE — SCHOOL-BASED
TRAINEESHIPS
489. Mr C.J. TALLENTIRE to the Minister for Training and
Workforce Development:
I have a supplementary question. Will the minister withdraw
funding to the ATC, given that it is currently advertising that it will
continue this scheme in 2013? It has failed the government in 2012, so the
minister should withdraw funding from that organisation for 2013. Will the
minister do so?

I just want to clarify something: is the member saying that
we should withdraw funding for apprenticeships in this state? I just want to
clarify that point because we are committed to looking after apprentices and
trainees, and that is what I am hearing.
Several members interjected.
Mr P.C. Tinley :
You can't verbal him here!
The SPEAKER : I suggest
to the member for Willagee that if you want to spend any further time in this
place today, that you remain absolutely silent. I hope that will be your
decision. Minister, have you completed your speech?
Mr M.J. COWPER : I
have a couple of short points I want to make, one being that perhaps the member
for Willagee should stop shooting his mouth off and understand —
Point of Order
Mr P.C. TINLEY :
You are telling me to be silent when he has a gob on him like a Mack truck!
The SPEAKER :
Member for Willagee and the minister, both of you have had an opportunity in
this place in question time to ask and answer questions. If you are interested
in talking about other issues between each other, I suggest that you talk to
each other outside the chamber.
