(FINANCE AND OTHER MATTERS) BILL 2023
1348. Hon TJORN SIBMA to the parliamentary secretary representing the
Minister for Electoral Affairs:
I refer to the
Electoral Amendment (Finance and Other Matters) Bill 2023.
(1) When did
drafting of this bill commence?
(2) Did the
minister appoint a ministerial expert panel to evaluate the present act to
inform the drafting of the bill, as was the approach to the management of the
Constitutional and Electoral Legislation Amendment (Electoral Equality) Bill
2021?
(3) Did the
minister undertake broad public consultation or any targeted engagement with
stakeholders to inform the drafting of this bill as was done two years ago in
relation to the Constitutional and Electoral Legislation Amendment (Electoral
