(2) The proposal contained in the anonymous facsimile was contrary to the recommendations contained in the security review of Albany Prison undertaken by an independent consultant and subsequently implemented by the department. The recommendations included the removal from the prison, of all High Security Escort prisoners and this has taken place. This was considered appropriate in view of the removal of the two armed officers on perimeter security at night. In addition to the removal of the High Security Escort prisoners, security on night shift within the prison itself has recently been supplemented by one additional prison officer.
