SOUTH WEST
NATIVE TITLE SETTLEMENT — COMMONWEALTH FUNDING
1358. Hon LJILJANNA RAVLICH to
the Leader of the House representing the Premier:
I refer to the Premier's letter to the commonwealth
government dated 3 December 2013, requesting that the commonwealth government
contribute $350 million as a partner in the south west native title settlement
between the state and the Noongar people.
(1) Has the
Premier received a response from the commonwealth government to his request for
$350 million?
(2) If yes to
(1), what was the response?
(3) Has the
commonwealth government agreed to conduct a full review of all federal land and
property holdings in the south west region that might be suitable for transfer
to the Noongar Boodja Trust?
(4) If no to
(1) or (3), given the Premier's statement that the commonwealth
government has a ''moral and political obligation'' in this
matter, what steps will he take to ensure the cooperation and involvement of
the federal government?
