The service duplicates a number of other routes, but serves some residential areas where passengers are not within walking distance of frequent services. It was rerouted to operate to Elizabeth Quay Bus Station via Mill Street instead of the WACA via Adelaide Terrace in July 2019.
The route was adjusted due to low usage on the withdrawn section of the route. Only 8 per cent of users per week will now need to change in order to complete their journey.
