I refer the Minister to the Small Business Commissioner’s report into the Construction Subcontractor Investigation, page 43 which states “It is of note that industry experts, including the Western Australia Building Commissioner, are of the view that the statutory declaration process is a poor tool that has failed to ensure security of payment for subcontractors”, and I ask: (a) does the Minister agree with this statement; and (b) will the Minister outline how he will address this major concern raised by many with in the construction industry?
