As at 11 August 2015:
(1)-(2) Yes Hon Tony Simpson MLA has been a strong local advocate for the progression of the Tonkin Highway extension on behalf of his community and Chaired the Tonkin Highway Extension Community Working Group (CWG) until early 2013 when he was appointed a Minister. Cr Bruce Moore was formally appointed chair in April 2013 and continued to progress the great work of this community committee.
The Strategic Business Case was completed and provided to Government for further progression through the budgetary process.
Cost have not yet been finalised. The Metropolitan Region Scheme includes a reservation to extend Tonkin Highway.
