SHARK BAY WORLD HERITAGE DISCOVERY CENTRE - WESTERN AUSTRALIAN MUSEUM
In view of the stalemate that appears to have arisen in respect of the artefacts held at the Shark Bay World Heritage Discovery Centre, will the minister give an undertaking to visit the centre in Shark Bay as soon as practicable and seek to negotiate a settlement of the issue; and if not, why not? Hon ADELE FARINA

I thank the honourable Leader of the Opposition for some notice of this question. The minister advises that she may decide to visit, should she believe that the shire is operating in good faith and willing to return the objects as articulated in its letter dated 10 August 2007 from its solicitor.
