As a follow up to the reply given to Question on Notice 5942 relating to the Percent for Arts Scheme in which the Minister stated that there is not a published policy, the Percent for Art Scheme has been governed by Cabinet Minute 4.4 ‘Art of the State’, since 28 May 1997, and I ask will the Minister table Cabinet Minute 4.4 ‘Art of the State’?

As the Member is aware a 30-year embargo applies to the release of Cabinet papers. Therefore I am unable to table a copy of the Cabinet Minute.
However, if the Member for Perth wishes to pursue this matter he is advised to write to the Director General, Department of Premier and Cabinet stating why access to Cabinet Minute 4.4 is required.
As per the Building Management and Works website, "The State Government percent for art policy requires up to one percent of the construction budget for new works over $2 million to be expended on art work." These works may include major public buildings such as schools, police stations, and health services.
More information about the Scheme is available from the Department of Culture and the Arts website.
