DOMESTIC VIOLENCE INTERVENTION PROJECT - RECOMMENDATIONS
Every day Western Australian women are subjected to violence. When will the government implement the recommendations launched on 19 September 2007 and contained in the “Western Australian Safety and Accountability Audit of the Armadale Domestic Violence Intervention Project, 2007”, a report produced by the Armadale Domestic Violence Intervention Project in partnership with Dr Ellen Pence and the Family and Domestic Violence Unit? Hon SUE ELLERY

I thank the member for some notice of this question. I launched that project. Some of the protocols developed from that project are already underway. As for the time line for rolling out the implementations more broadly, I will have to take that part of the question on notice. I place on record my commendation of all the agencies involved in the Armadale project. The police played a fantastic role, as did the domestic violence agencies in the area and a range of government and non-government agencies. It was an excellent project because it showed that agencies, when they work together to deal with people in crisis, can make a real difference. I am happy to commend everyone involved.
