Minister for Commerce:
How many authorised persons—full-time equivalent—did
the Western Australian Building Commission have to undertake building complaint
investigations for each of the following years —
(a) 2012–13;
(b) 2013–14; and
(c) 2014 to date?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of this
question.
(a) The number
of FTE was 20.5—11 for building services and home building work
contract complaints, and 9.5 for disciplinary complaints and investigations of
statutory breaches.
(b) The number
of FTE was 20.5—12 for building services and home building work
contract complaints and 8.5 for disciplinary complaints and investigations of
statutory breaches.
(c) The number
of FTE was 20.5—12 for building services and home building work
contract complaints and 8.5 for disciplinary complaints and investigations of
statutory breaches.
In addition, the Building Commission has 16 FTE to conduct
technical inspections of building, plumbing and painting work.
