AnswerView source ↗

I thank the member for the question.
(1) Each day, up to 349 million
litres of seawater is extracted from Cockburn Sound.
(2) Each day, up to 149 million
litres of drinking water can be produced.
(3) Each day, approximately 200
million litres of brine is returned to Cockburn Sound.
(4) The operating cost in 2019–20 is estimated
to be 68 a kilolitre. The total unit cost, taking into
consideration construction costs and conveyance infrastructure, results
in a total cost of desalinated water of between $2 and $3 a kilolitre.
