Minister for Police:
I refer to the South Australia
Police adding cocaine to roadside drug testing from early next year.
(1) What drugs does Western Australia
Police Force currently conduct random roadside testing for?
(2) Is cocaine tested for during
roadside testing in WA?
(3) If no to (2), why not?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. The Western Australia Police Force advise the
following.
(1) Roadside testing is conducted for
tetrahydrocannabinol, or cannabis; methylamphetamine; and 2.5 N, α-Dimethyl-3,4-(methylenedioxy)phenylethylamine, or MDMA.
(2) No.
(3) The current roadside drug
testing is focused on detecting the most commonly used illicit drugs.
