Further, although the armed night patrol has been replaced by an unarmed random patrol, security within the prison itself has been increased by one prison officer during night shift; this again follows the Member for Albany’s concerns that the people of Albany need to feel safe and secure. (2) With respect to the Inspector of Custodial Services criticism regarding the transition of Pardelup Prison Farm to a Work Camp, the Department of Justice have acknowledged it could have handled the matter better and I expect such problems will not occur again in the future.
