I refer to the Minister's answer in relation to the
State Planning Strategy
during estimates committee hearings in May 2011, and ask:
(a) given that both the Minister and Chairman of the Western Australian Planning Commission stated that a review into this document was underway and that a draft was to be released for consultation by October 2011, for what reason has this not occurred; and
(b) when does the Minister expect this review will be made public?

(a) The draft State Planning Strategy has been revised and is in the final stages of consideration by the Government. As it affects a large number of State agencies involved in the planning and development of the State, it is important that care is taken to ensure that a document with cross government support is produced.
(b) I expect the draft State Planning Strategy to be released for public consultation before the end of this year.
