Pursuant to the Esperance Agricultural Expansion project, the Shire of Esperance has considered the potential for releasing unallocated crown land in Esperance. However, there have only been discussions at this point.  A decision by State Government to conduct investigation and feasibility work regarding the land is still to be made.
In relation to land in the Pilbara, under the Pilbara Hinterland Agricultural Development Initiative, specific land areas and land tenure options are still being investigated, but there is no scope as part of this initiative for actual land release at this stage.
In relation to the Gascoyne, Midlands, Myalup and Warren-Donnelly areas, these areas are part of Stage 2 of the Water for Food project which is still in its preliminary stages of submission and government approval. Peel is not included in the Water for Food project and it is not envisioned at this stage that there will be any land releases in the Peel area under the Water for Food project.
Under the Gascoyne Food Bowl Initiative, land in the Gascoyne area is currently being considered for future development. The potential for land release in this area is likely, but the project is still in its preliminary stages and there is a lot more investigating and research to be undertaken.
