Firearms—Transitional authority letters
140. Hon Dr Brian Walker to the minister representing
the Minister for Police:
My question is to
the Leader of the House representing the Minister for Police.
I refer the minister
to the recent issuing of transitional authority letters to firearm owners
across Western Australia.
(1) How many transitional firearms
authorities have been issued by WA police since the implementation of the new Firearms Act 2024 in March last year?
(2) What percentage of those authorities
have successfully transitioned to new licences, what percentage have led to an
expiry of licences and what percentage remain outstanding?
(3) What final date, if any, has been
allocated to the transition process?
