In reference to question 1558 where the Minister states, “The fact that the Member for Carine asks to be provided with the direct expenditure and specifically asks that ‘media impact’ is not provided clearly demonstrates a lack of understanding of the overall impact events have on the economy and tourism”, and I ask -
(1) Does the Minister realise direct in-scope expenditure (without media impact) is Tourism WA’s only Key Performance Indicator for measuring events management (p34 Tourism WA Annual Report)?
(2) If not, how does the Minister evaluate her department’s performance in event management?

(2) As indicated in the response to question on notice 1558, EventsCorp assesses the success of the Western Australian Government's sponsorship (as opposed to event management) and the benefit to Western Australia through either economic impact or media impact; or both.
