With regard to the Public Education Endowment Trust, will the Minister please advise -
(1) Has the Government advertised for grant applications for the 2003-2004 financial year?
(2) If not, why not?
(3) If so, on what date and in which publications?
(4) How many applications have been received?
(5) Which schools have made these applications?
(6) Are non-Government schools eligible for grants under the Public Education Endowment Trust?
(7) If not, when did the exclusion of non-Government schools from accessing Public Education Endowment Trust fund become?
(8) Which individuals will be, or are currently involved, in assessing applications?
(9) When will a determination be made as to the outcome of applications?
(10) If this determination has already been made, what is the total value of grants approved in 2003-2004?
(11) If not, will the Minister guarantee that there will be no reduction in the total value of grants provided under the Trust?

(11) No such guarantee can be given by the Minister as the value of grants provided under the Trust is dependent on the Trust’s financial position at the time, which in turn is dependent on returns from its investments. In addition, it is the responsibility of the trustees to determine the funds available for grants in accordance with the Public Education Endowment Act.
