EDUCATION - FINAL YEARS K-10 SYLLABUS
I refer the minister to the contents of the following ministerial media statements, the first made on 22 January 2007 regarding the introduction of new syllabus course content from kindergarten to year 10 by the end of the year and the establishment of a new national panel to verify its quality; and the second made on 15 June 2007 in which the minister said that the panel would meet for the second and final time in November to endorse the final versions of the new syllabuses. (1) Will the final syllabus documents be introduced into Western Australian schools in 2008 if the national advisory panel refuses to provide its endorsement in November 2008? (2) If not, what strategy will be adopted before the syllabus documents will be completed and distributed to schools? Hon LJILJANNA RAVLICH
