539. Hon SUE ELLERY to the
Minister for Education:
I refer to the Switch teacher training program funding
allocation of $22.4 million to retrain 525 teachers in preparation for the
transition of year 7 students to secondary schools in 2015. What is the
breakdown of how the $22.4 million has been spent to date on —
(1) university
postgraduate fees;
(2) short
courses, training materials and travel/accommodation for regional teachers;
(3) teacher
relief—study;
(4) school-based
professional learning; and
(5) other?

The allocation of $22.4 million is for the period 1 July 2013
to 30 June 2016 —
(1) $940 945;
(2) $79 138;
(3) $294 725;
(4) Nil to date.
However, school-based professional learning will commence later in term 2; and
(5) $142 906.
