TOURISM — STEPHEN WOOD — DISMISSAL
222. Hon PETER COLLIER to
the Leader of the House representing the Minister for Public Sector Management:
I refer to the agreement between the
government and the director general of the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science
and Innovation to part ways and to the Premier's comment on Friday, 6 April
2018, when he stated —
''Principally, the Government
was not satisfied with the way the tourism portfolio was being managed and it
was decided the department needed to move in a new direction,''
(1) Which key
performance indicators did Mr Wood have with which the government was not
satisfied?
(2) If Mr Wood
did not have any KPIs, what specific issues relating to the management of the
tourism portfolio was the government not satisfied with and why was Mr Wood
being held responsible for this?
(3) How many
times has the Premier met with Mr Wood since 1 January 2018 and on what date
was the first occasion the Premier indicated he was not satisfied with the way
the tourism portfolio was being managed?
(4) What payment
has been, or will be, made to Mr Wood as a result of the government agreeing to
part ways with Mr Wood and can an itemised breakdown of the payment be
provided; and, if not, why not?
