I refer to the answer to my question on notice No. 4446 regarding the hydrogeological investigations of the Byro sub-basin, and I ask -
(1) Did the Department of Water fund any of the hydrogeological work undertaken in the area in the past year?
(2) Did the Department of Water provide advice about where and how to undertake this hydrogeological work?
(3) Can the Minister specify how the Department’s understanding of the groundwater resources in the area has changed for -
(a) volume of water available;
(b) quality of water available; and
(c) permeability of the aquifers?
(4) Is the Department satisfied that the numbers used by Crosslands in modelling the drawdown for the bore field are reasonable given the results of the results of Global Groundwater’s hydrogeological investigations of the area?
