(1) What are the full and itemised costs of the consultancy, advertising and other expenses for the Department of Culture and the Arts to engage a consultant to assess the effectiveness of the Premier’s Book Awards and the Australia-Asia Literary Award?
(2) Has the Department already included cuts to both awards in the 3 per cent efficiency dividend?
(3) Will the Minister support both awards for ongoing funding?

(1)It is anticipated that the consultancy will cost $20 000
Other costs are limited to advertising the Request for Quotation in WA Government Notices, West Australian: $1 000
Total anticipated expenditure:
$21 000
(2)The 3% efficiency dividend has been applied by the Department. Cuts to the awards were not required in order to meet the Department's obligations in meeting the efficiency dividend.
(3) The future of both awards is pending the recommendations of the review. The Minister will make a decision regarding the ongoing status of both awards in consideration of these recommendations.
