I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question. The Department of Mines and Petroleum advises —
(1) Natural
seismic activity has occurred in the vicinity of Yulleroo 3 and 4 wells.
(2) Yes.
(3) Environment
plans for the drilling of Yulleroo 3 and Yulleroo 4 were approved in 2012. Buru's
environment plan for hydraulically fracturing both wells is not yet approved.
DMP has requested further information from Buru Energy and is awaiting its
response.
(4) The
environment plans for Yulleroo 3 and Yulleroo 4 are available on Buru Energy's
website. The environment plan for hydraulically fracturing these wells is not
yet approved. However, the EPA referral application for this proposal is
available on Buru's website.
