Hon Barry House questions the Attorney General regarding the extension of government-funded legal assistance to former police officers, public servants, and members of the public called to give evidence before the Police Royal Commission, specifically referencing the commission's terms of reference dating back to 1985. The Attorney General denied extending funding to former staff and the public.

I refer to the Government’s recent announcement that members of the Western Australian Police Force and public servants working in that Department will have access to Government funded legal assistance should they be called to give evidence before the Police Royal Commission, and ask -
(1) Given that the terms of reference for the Police Royal Commission date back to 1985, will that funding be extended to former police officers and former public servants who may be called before the Royal Commission?
(2) Will that funding also be extended to members of the public who may also be called to give evidence at the Royal Commission?
