I refer to Recommendation 21 of the ‘Investing in Government Schools: Putting Children First’ Report and the Final Report in response to ‘Putting Children First’, regarding ‘difficult to manage students’ in Government schools and ask what recommendations from the review of behaviour management in Government schools, completed and presented to the Director-General in July 2003, have been implemented?

Following completion of the review of Behaviour Management in Government Schools, the team developed 25 recommendations. The team presented the report to the Director-General and Minister for Education. They were then asked to prioritise the recommendations for implementation and focused on 15 that the team considered to be a priority for implementation. The current status of the fifteen priority recommendations shows that: - 10 of the recommendations are being implemented; - 1 recommendation is part of current funding negotiations; and - 4 have been referred to relevant areas for discussion.
