refer to the WA Aviation Strategy 2020 and the licence conditions which require
airlines operating Regular Public Transport (RPT) services on previously unregulated routes to provide
data to the State Government, and I ask: (a) Can
the Minister provide a table indicating the average price of airfares for the
Perth – Geraldton route by month for: (i) 2016; (ii) 2017; (iii) 2018; and (iv) 2019; (b) Can
the Minister provide a table indicating the average price of airfares for the
Geraldton – Perth route by month for: (i) 2016; (ii) 2017; (iii) 2018; and (iv) 2019; (c) Can
the Minister Provide a table showing a breakdown of how many flights on the
Perth- Geraldton route in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 were: (i) Cancelled; (ii) Delayed; (iii) Departed on time; and (iv) Arrived on time; and (d) Can
the Minister provide a table showing a breakdown of how many flights on the
Geraldton- Perth route in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 were: (i) Cancelled; (ii) Delayed; (iii) Departed on time; and (iv) Arrived on time? (2) I
refer to page 18 of the WA Aviation Strategy in relation to the nine regional
community workshops held by the Department of Transport in 2019 and I ask: (a) What
were the outcomes in relation to making airfares more affordable in areas
serviced by previously unregulated routes; and (b) What
were the outcomes in relation to making airfares more affordable in Geraldton? (3) I
refer to page 19 of the WA Aviation Strategy in relation to Rex Community
Airfares and I ask: (a) Has
Geraldton ever been considered for discounted prices under this scheme; (b) If yes to (a) please explain what was discussed
and what the outcome was; (c) If no to (a), why not; (d) Will
the Minister consider including Geraldton under this scheme in the near future; and (e) If no to (d), why not?

(d) Airlines are encouraged to offer affordable airfares for Geraldton, and all towns and cities in WA. As stated in the draft WA Aviation Strategy 2020, if satisfactory measures have not been introduced voluntarily, the State Government will take a more interventionist approach to air routes that are presently lightly regulated.
