Department data systems do not indicate if proposals to clear road verge vegetation are specifically for the purpose of road train or road vehicle access. (2) Seven proposals involving road widening have been referred to the EPA for environmental impact assessment during the period 1998-2001. Thirty two notifications have been made under the Soil and Land Conservation Act 1986 and five licence applications have been made under the Country Areas Water Supply Act 1947 to clear native vegetation in road reserves during the period 1998-2001.
