WATER
RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
931. Hon ALISON XAMON to the minister representing the
Minister for Water:
I refer to the recently tabled ''Implementation Plan
for the National Framework for Compliance and Enforcement Systems for Water
Resource Management Project'', and the milestones within this plan,
including new legislation.
(1) Will the
new legislation address current inconsistencies in licences for five million
litres, and larger, on the Gnangara mound, whereby some licence holders are
required to meter and some are not?
(2) The
implementation plan is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2015–16.
Would it be feasible to ensure that metering is a licence condition for all
water licences over five million litres a year within the same time frame?
(3) If yes to (2), is it the government's intention
to try to do this?
(4) If no to (2), why not?
