As at 31 October 2014 -
(a) The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) opened at Bunbury Hospital in December 2012 with all eight beds being fitted out for ICU level care, although only four beds were assigned for ICU level care and four beds retained for High Dependency Unit (HDU) level care. The ICU has been accredited as a Level 1 unit in accordance with the minimum standards as determined by the Australasian College of Intensive Care Medicine. It is fully functional as a Level 1 ICU.
(b) Occupancy of ICU is represented by the total number of bed days. The bed day count in the table below represents occupancy of both the HDU and the ICU beds. It is not possible to separate the categories of patients with any level of validity.
