(a) The Government provides Western Australian workplaces with information about induction training through the WorkSafe Division of the Department of Commerce. The information is made available through WorkSafe's inspectorate and community education services and a Customer Help Centre. WorkSafe also engages with industry stakeholders and provides extensive information about workplace safety (including induction training) on the internet and through publications. In addition, the Commission for Occupational Safety and Health also publishes publications about workplace safety, which are distributed by WorkSafe.
(b) Issues about compliance with induction training requirements can be raised with WorkSafe during inspector visits, may be identified by inspectors during visits or raised through the Customer Help Centre. WorkSafe will assess the information provided and/or circumstances identified in relation to the
Occupational Safety and Health Act 1984
and its accompanying regulations and take appropriate action.
