The Health Department of Western Australia in its roles of both Purchaser of health services and Owner of government assets direct funds to Health Services for health services and programs rather than to individual hospitals. The allocation of funds to individual hospitals is an operational issue, which is the responsibility of the management of each Health Service operating in the role of the Provider. 1) In 1999/2000 the Health Department allocated total funding of $8 604 000 to the Peel Health Service. This includes funding for Murray Districts Hospital. Both recurrent and non-recurrent items are included. 2) The budget allocation for the Peel Health Service for 2000/01 is not yet available. Negotiations in relation to the 2000/01 Peel Health Service Health Service Agreement are nearing completion.
