I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. The following response has been provided by the
Minister for Homelessness.
(1)–(3) The
total number of people accommodated at Boorloo Bidee Mia will fluctuate,
dependent on the support needs of residents,
with the delivery of a safe, culturally appropriate and effective service being
the priority at all times. As at 19 September 2023, 60 people were being
supported at Boorloo Bidee Mia. Since commencing
in August 2021, Boorloo Bidee Mia has supported 115 people in total. Of this
cohort, 23 people have so far been supported into longer term
accommodation.
(4) The average
length of stay for clients is not captured in the service's reporting
to the department.
