I refer the minister to his answer to question without notice 568. (1) Will the minister provide any evidence that demonstrates that the recipients of government funds for sporting facilities, as listed on page 116 of budget paper No 3, were advised before the election that they would be required to contribute $2 for every $1 provided by the Government? I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1)-(2) Prior to the election the Australian Labor Party pledged specific sums of money for the projects listed on page 116 of budget paper No 3. The recipients were therefore aware of the magnitude of the funds being made available by government towards the total costs of the projects. The Government prioritises projects for funding from the community sporting and recreation facilities fund.
