TRANSPORT — URBAN RAIL NETWORK —
CONNECTING SERVICES
648. Hon KEN TRAVERS to the parliamentary
secretary representing the Minister for Transport:
I refer to bus services that are
scheduled to connect with train services on the Perth urban rail network.
(1) Is a standard
length of time allocated between the arrival of one service and the departure
of the connecting service?
(2) If yes to (1), what is the
amount of time allocated?
(3) If no to (1), how is the amount
of time calculated?
(4) What is the shortest amount of
time allocated between connecting services?
(5) What is the longest amount of
time allocated between connecting services?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) No. Connection times vary across
the network.
(2) Not applicable.
(3)–(5) The
amount of time for a connection is calculated based upon the time a person may
take from the furthest point on the train platform to the furthest active stand
within the bus interchange. When the walking distance is minimal, connection
times are also minimised. When the walking distance is longer, additional
connection time is provided.
