I refer to the Minister for Police's comments in Parliament on 18 September 2012 regarding community forums, and ask —
(1) Will the Minister confirm that the Bayswater Police Station will continue to be staffed by frontline police officers?
(2) If no to (1), why not?
(3) Can the Minister provide this guarantee – that Bayswater Police Station will continue to be staffed by frontline police officers – now and into the future?
(4) How many full time equivalent (FTE) uniform police officer positions are currently allocated at Bayswater Police Station?
(5) How many of these FTE uniform police officer positions are currently filled and how many are currently vacant?
(6) How many FTE civilian police officer positions are currently allocated at Bayswater Police Station?
(7) How many of these FTE civilian police officer positions are currently filled and how many are currently vacant?
(8) Under the current Budgetary cuts or savings being imposed by Treasury, can the Minister guarantee that there will be no cuts in the number of FTE uniform police officers at Bayswater Police Station?

(1-3) Western Australia Police has no plans to close the station.
(4-5) The Western Australia Police advise due to operational sensitivities, specific information relating to staffing levels of individual police stations is not released.
Resources are principally allocated at a District level and District Superintendents deploy these resources within their District to provide the best possible policing service to meet operational requirements and the varying needs of the community.

(6) As at 26 October 2012 there is one police staff position allocated to the Bayswater Police Station.
(7) As at 26 October 2012 the police staff position at the Bayswater Police Station is filled.
(8-9) The Commissioner of Police is responsible for the allocation of police services state-wide. Western Australia Police undertakes continual monitoring to determine the ongoing demand for policing services to ensure responsive policing service is provided to the areas of greatest need.
