(2) There are seven women's refuges south of the river, including Rockingham and excluding Mandurah. South of the River is defined as south of the Narrows Bridge. (3) In 2004-05 608 women used the facilities north of the river on 698 occasions. (4) In 2004-05 639 women used the facilities south of the river on 808 occasions. (5) (a) There are 57 crisis places available north of the river. Of these, 15 places are for single women and 42 places are for women with accompanying children. (b) There are 47 crisis places available south of the river. Of these, 18 are for single women and 29 places are for women with accompanying children. (6-7) Indicative data collected by the Department for Community Development about clients receiving Departmental services suggests that the Department's Mirrabooka District Office has the highest demand for services due to domestic violence reasons, followed by Joondalup, Perth and Midland District Offices. South of the River, Cannington District Office shows the highest demand, followed by Armadale, Fremantle and Rockingham.
