DEPARTMENT OF MINES AND PETROLEUM
(1) The Department of Mines and Petroleum is responsible for maintaining two external websites. The Department of Mines and Petroleum website, and the Department of State Development website.
(2) The annual cost of maintaining the two departmental websites is around $120,000. This includes, but is not limited to, registration fees, web servers, software and staff.
(3) The principle function of the Department of Mines and Petroleum's website is to promote responsible discovery and development of mineral and energy projects by being the repository of information and forms for the mining and petroleum industries. The Department of State Development website gives in-depth updates on state initiatives and encourages major project investment in the state.
(4) The sites were designed to comply with the WA Government framework as per Office of eGovernment guidelines. The sites use the security and privacy terms as per the aforementioned guidelines.
(5) The website is not marketed except on internally produced material and does not have a marketing budget for its promotion. Therefore, there is no direct marketing expenditure.
