VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING — AUDIT
792. Hon SUE ELLERY to the Minister for
Education:
I refer to the recent joint audit of
vocational education and training in schools conducted by TAFE and the
Department of Education.
(1) What was the scope of the audit?
(2) What is the status of the report
of the audit?
(3) Will the
minister table a copy of the report; and, if not, why not, and when will he
table it?
I just add that I did get some
contact from the minister's office to check on whether we were talking
about the same thing and I am not sure where that ended up.

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. I did ask my office to contact the Leader of the
Opposition's office.
(1)–(3) The
Department of Education is not conducting an audit of VET in schools. I am
advised that the audit of VET in schools falls under the responsibility of the
Training Accreditation Council. The Leader of the Opposition might perhaps
direct the question to the Department of Training and Workforce Development
anew.
