AUSTRALIAN INSTITUTE FOR DEAF EDUCATION, COTTESLOE — VALUATION
398. Hon ALISON XAMON to the minister representing the
Minister for Education:
I refer to the Western Australian Institute for Deaf
Education at Cottesloe, which the Minister for Education has indicated will be
closing in late 2012.
(1) Has the Department of Education sought a valuation on
this property?
(2) If yes to (1), will the minister please advise the
estimated value of this property?
(3) If no to
(1), is a property valuation likely to be sought; and, if so, when would that
valuation be likely to take place?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of this
question.

advised there is no valuation of the approximately two-hectare parcel of land
at 53 Curtin Avenue, Cottesloe, where the Western Australian Institute for Deaf
Education is currently located.
(2) Not applicable.
(3) At
present, no decision has been made with regard to the 53 Curtin Avenue,
Cottesloe parcel of land. A valuation will be undertaken if one is considered
necessary by the Department of Education.
