(a) The Public Sector Commission does not provide any standard definition of the term 'Corporate Hospitality'. As a result of the lack of a standard definition, the information cannot be appropriately and uniformly provided to reflect the Member's question. The Member has however identified a specific example and in the interests of an open and accountable Government - part (b) has been answered with respect to expenditure on 'Corporate Boxes'.
Department of Health; Healthway; Health and Disability Services Complaints Office; Rottnest Island Authority
(b) Nil.
(i - iv) Not applicable.
Tourism Western Australia
(b) As a longstanding practice, Tourism Western Australia's (Tourism WA) negotiation of event sponsorship agreements incorporates the provision of corporate hospitality. This corporate hospitality is used for the purposes of promoting the benefits of event tourism to key private and public stakeholders and to provide networking opportunities for the Western Australian Government.
Corporate hospitality, including the hire of a corporate box (or similar facility), that is provided by event holders as part of a sponsorship agreement is not separately costed or reported within the agreement.
However, Tourism WA has, on occasion, directly hired corporate boxes. For the period 2008-09 to 2011-12 (to date), details of which are as follows:
(i) Event
(ii) Cost
(iii) Total number of attendees
(iv) Number of agency officers
