BICYCLE
NETWORK PLAN — PUBLICATION
1140. Hon KEN TRAVERS to the
parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Transport:
Mr President, I apologise in advance as this is slightly
longer than my normal questions, but I hope you will understand why.
(1) Who in the Department of
Transport originally prepared an answer to question without notice 323?
(2) Who in the
Department of Transport viewed the answer to question without notice 323 before
it was answered in the Parliament?
(3) After the
person referred to in (1) prepared an answer, did anyone in the department
subsequently make any changes to the answer?
(4) If yes to (3),
what changes were made?
(5) When did the
department first become aware that the answer was incorrect?
(6) Will the
Minister for Transport table a copy of all versions of proposed answers to
question without notice 323 provided by the Department of Transport to the
minister's office; and, if not, why not?
(7) Does the
department have any explanation for why it provided an incorrect answer?

I thank the
honourable member for some notice of question. I am seeking a more
comprehensive response to the question and when that is forthcoming, I am more
than happy to state that in the house.
