I thank the
honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1)–(4) I am aware of media reports that
the government of the Philippines has requested a review of Australian
biosecurity restrictions, which I understand under international trade
obligations the Australian Government is required to review. The matter has
also been raised with me by the Sweeter Banana Co-Operative, which represents
17 Carnarvon growers.
The President: I give the call to Hon Julie Freeman.
Several members
interjected.
The President: Order! We will allow the member on her
feet to ask her question.
