The Minister for Environment has provided the following response.
(a)-(b) Planning work is currently underway, however it is envisaged that the office accommodation element of the project will cost about $15m and the visitor and related interpretive infrastructure component will cost about $3m.
(c) The Department of Parks and Wildlife is the major provider of tourism infrastructure on public lands and marine conservation areas throughout the State and has a significant role in providing public information about our unique plants, animals and conservation reserve system. Planning for the project will ensure that it meets the Government's intention that it be a conservation, national park and tourism shopfront for the south west.
