(1) Are you aware of any allegations of fraudulent activity at the Town of Victoria Park: (a) what is the nature of those allegations; (b) please provide details of the date and a description of each alleged fraudulent activity; (c) have these allegations been reported to the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (Department); (d) has the Department investigated those allegations? If not, why not; and (e) what was the outcome of each investigation undertaken by the Department? (2) How many matters/incidents arising from the Town of Victoria Park have been considered by the Department under the serious breach provisions of the Local Government Act, for each of the past five years: (a) what was the outcome of each serious breach investigation? (3) How many matters/incidents arising from the Town of Victoria Park have been referred to the Local Government Standards Panel for each of the past five years: (a) what was the outcome of each matter referred to the Local Government Standards Panel? (4) Would an allegation of fraud be considered a minor or serious breach of the Local Government Act?

(1)(a-c) A complaint was received by the Department on 9 September 2017 alleging fraudulent use of a motor vehicle.
(d) No, the Department has no jurisdiction to investigate fraud. This is a police matter.
(e) The complainant was advised that the Department had no jurisdiction to investigate and, as it had already been reported to both the Western Australia Police and the Corruption and Crime Commission by the complainant, the matter was closed.
(2) One
(a) An education letter was sent to the respondent for the second matter.
(3) Three
(a) Two complaints were withdrawn as the respondent was not re-elected and one complaint was assessed as non-compliant and returned to the complainant.
(4) An allegation of fraud is a police matter.
