I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) Between 1
January 2019 and 30 June 2019, the Department of Communities'
goldfields district received 73 notifications of child sexual abuse. Five
notifications of child sexual abuse received during this period were
substantiated.
(2) The
Centrecare child sexual abuse therapy program can receive referrals from
government departments, community sector
agencies, schools and self-referrals. The Department of Communities has not yet
received the data for referrals made to the Centrecare child sexual
abuse therapy program for the 1 January 2019 to
30 June 2019 reporting period. This report is due to the Department of
Communities by 31 August 2019.
