No Department of Parks and Wildlife (DPaW) vehicles are currently fitted with dedicated water spray protection systems.
DPaW is currently establishing an operational trial to compare the effectiveness of water deluge systems versus gel-based deluge systems. At the conclusion of this trial, implementation of the most effective system will commence with the aim of having all trucks fitted with spray protection systems prior to 30 September 2014. This timeline is in accordance with the current WorkSafe Improvement Notice on this matter.
